Ferrules can be marked as desired, either with a unique TAG number or production line, and hoses can be labeled with colors or tags depending on production.

For aggressive chemicals, we often choose PTFE- or fluoropolymer-based hoses, because they combine high chemical resistance with low leaching and a long lifespan.

What’s the difference between FDA, USP Class VI and EU 1935/2004?

FDA and EU 1935/2004 concern materials approved for contact with food and process media, while USP Class VI is a biological test standard often used for plastics and elastomers in pharma and medical devices. In pharma, components are often selected based on a combination of material approvals, documentation and process requirements. When advising pharma customers, we therefore look at the overall documentation package rather than a single approval.

What materials are typically used in pharmaceutical process plants?
